Shenanigans 12 – Cut & Paste Volume III (WIP)

Told you I was fickle. Instead of finishing Sh11 Chronologie (although I may return to it at some point in future) I decided to start a new cut and paste style mix.

Shenanigans 12 – Cut & Paste Volume III is a 22.2mb mp3 file encoded at 128K to try and keep the file size down. It runs for 24:08 as one continuous file – you can either listen to it now, using the audio player below, or download it using the link at the bottom of the page.

The mix opens with the acappella version of “Disturbia“. I only use the opening part, then loop one small section of the vocal whilst “Rock The Discotek” comes in. “Give The DJ A Break” sits over the top to provide some fill-in – that’s all the scratching you can hear. Extra percussion (and a pounding kick drum) comes from Juliet’s very underrated dance anthem “Avalon“.

After a few sterling house tracks (with a strong Freemasons influence) there’s a very underground track called “A Bit Patchy” which samples The Incredible Bongo Band’s “Apache” – hence the title! There’s a real mash-up between that and Freeform Five. Finally, the intro from The Rolling Stones‘ “Street Fighting Man” is laid over the top of this new remix of Kylie’s “Slow” to create a new set of harmonies.
