Shenanigans 11 – Chronologie (Work In Progress)

Shenanigans 11 – Chronologie – is my latest mix. It’s still a work in progress, but I thought it would be a chance to follow how a mix is put together.

I had the idea for his mix some time ago, but I was still trying to do Shenanigans 9 (Cut & Paste Volume II, which will be posted online later) so it had to go on hold because I can’t focus on two mixes at once! The basic idea is to follow the history of house music from its inception around 1985 to 2008. In order to get it onto one CD I could only have, at most, 3 minutes audio per year so I have had to be very selective in the tracks I could use (and also, I had to consider the tracks that I had at my disposal).

This is the first eighteen minutes or so of the work-in-progress version of Chronologie. When I’ve done the next 5-10 minutes, I’ll post again. I’m notoriously fickle when it comes to mixes, so when it’s posted again there might easily be half a dozen different tracks.
