The BassLINE Tapes – Number 1
September 4, 2008Welcome one and all to the newly revamped Ad Fundum!
Now that we’ve given up trying to be funny, we can concentrate on having a laugh and doing something we love – writing and talking about music, sharing songs, watching videos and reading music trivia. We like all kinds of music except Country and Western – that’s the music of pain, as Xander Harris once so memorably put it.
Our first offering for download is the first in a (so far) extremely short-lived series called The BassLINE Tapes. These were inspired by Annie Mac’s Radio 1minimix podcast – a five minute megamix of whatever you fancy. This mix features music from the early to mid nineties, a great time for dance music and house music in particular. These are records that I was still playing from vinyl 12” records on my two battered old Technics 1210 Mk. IIs in Chesterfield’s Inspiration Bar – happy times.
PS Thanks to Lucy Turner for being my guinea pig and being the first person to listen to it when it was finished!
